FIRST, scroll up to the top of the web page to read my short introduction to this gallery. It is under the "2014 Moho Trip" title. I think SmugMug has a bug here as the gallery bypasses the intro. Rob
516-521 This is a panorama of the city of Northumberland, PA, looking northeast, near Splash Magic, the campground where my nephew and his family like to play, and where we stayed a few nights. Northumberland sits at the junction of the north (main) branch of the Susquehanna River to the right, and the west branch of the Susquehanna, which lies before you. The two branches merge to the right of the bridge and continue southward, out of the picture. The local folks like to have a body of water on which to go boating and water skiing in the summer, but apparently neither river is deep enough for boating. So in the summertime the world’s longest (2,100 feet) inflatable dam is pumped up to stretch across the river about a mile below the bridge to create Lake Augusta, a 3,000 acre lake which is what this part of the west branch is called in the summer. Cool.
