On March 15, 2010, three other Camera Club of Brevard photographers and I went to the three trail bridges across Crabgrass Creek on the Florida Trail in Bull Creek Wildlife Management Area just off U.S. 192 in Osceola County. Unfortunately, due to recent rains, Crabgrass Creek was more like Crabgrass Lake. We could cross only thre first bridge; the second and third were inaccessible due to high water. We also didn’t see much wildlife. But I did manage to capture this American robin. I can’t believe I was excited about photographing a robin because in upstate NY, where I come from, they are as numerous as pigeons in NYC. They’re a dime a dozen, yet he made my day down here in Florida, where we see robins only as they are flying through on their way either north or south.
