Before we left to come home two other friends from home, Judy and Art, settled into our RV park. We brought them to Jump Off Rock so they could see the wonderful view. Here are Art, Judy, and Jodi atop the rock.
36 Jodi and I happened to encounter Ms. Purdy after the earlier reenactment, and she held our ear for twenty minutes with stories of the British governor of the colonies and his family, and the political altercations between the British and the colonists. Ms. Purdy was in period costume, and spoke in period English with period accent throughout our entire discussion. She deserves an Oscar for her performance. Here Ms. Purdy and Jodi pose for a photo.
50 If one is convicted, one goes to jail (spelled “gaol” at the time) and spends time in a cell like the one Jodi is in. Shackles hang from the left and right walls. In the lower left corner sits a coffin should the prisoner expire while in custody. And the stepped structure on the right is the toilet. It is strapped in place to prevent prisoners from dismantling it and escaping through it.
